I was given an eddie bauer adventurer infant carseat model # 22-627-cgt manufactured on 06/14/08 due to the loss of my first child i was unable to us it. I had my second child october 2009 went to use the carseat and the leg restraints on the carseat pinched my newborns legs when i snapped it being a new mom i thought it was my own fault. Everytime after that though the same thing happened and made my baby cry everytime and it is extremely hard to buckle, and is really hard to snap into the base but the main compliant is the buckles pinching my child and he is not abnormally large or anything. As a result of this i had to purchase another carseat. I tried to take the other travel system back to the store it was purchased at and they wouldn't take it back because it had been over their 90 day return policy. The legs straps pinching my baby happened probably 5 or 6 times before i realized it wasn't me it was the carseat and i had to go buy another. It caused bruising on my babies legs and i am very dissatisfied and upset.
We received the eddie bauer adventurer travel system as a gift about a year ago.after a month or so of using it we noticed the handle to carry the carseat was loose, even in the locked position.on 12/18/09 we found out that our carseat had been recalled because of a potential fall hazard from the screws in the handles coming off.dorel juvenile group sent us a recall installation kit to repair the car seat handles, which we did according to their installation instructions.about a month after installing the new screws in the handle the car seat handle on the left side completely broke off from the carseat creating the same fall hazard as the initial problem.dorel continues to send out replacement parts and are not cooperative in dealing with customers who have faulty products.overall, this carseat model is not safe to use even after the recall kit has been installed and it should be removed from the market immediately.
