Product: 22-322 lxi safety 1st eurostar travel system. Purchased at babies r us. The child safety latch attached to the bottom of the carseat base completely fell off while i was removing the infant carrier from my car. The latch is attached to the base by a thick strap with a bolt. This strap completely tore away from the bolt and fell off. There was no car accident which could have caused this. I only used the base about 5 times. My daughter is 9 weeks old and 11 pounds so weight was not an issue causing the failure. This product was recalled for faulty handles and needs to be recalled fot the safety latch. The id number on the base is gb4359-5041. It is a 3 position adjustable base.
