I am an experienced cpst who assisted a soon to be mother with the installation of a maxi-cosi mico infant seat and basetoday.release of infant seat from basewassignificantly problematic.the base released only when fingers were pressed up under the release bar at the same time it was being "pulled out". Simply pulling the release bar in an outward direction was not sufficient to release the carrier from the base.re-connection to base seemed even more problematic as the carrier often failed to engage with the base.. On 2 of 5 separate attempts i made to connect the carrier to base the base ....the carrier would not latch on to the base attachment hardware because the base attachment hardware was "locked"in the closed position. When the attachment hardware is locked and closed it obstructs the carrier rods from attaching to the base hardware as intended.my concern is that this could routinely result in the carrier not properly being secured to the base.since i am unable to enter the model and make of the seat with the drop down boxes i will enter it below:doerl juvenile groupmodel# 22-371-oregb1b 11/19/07a blue circular sticker is noted on the product registration card (similar to what i have seen in recalls on other products).i spoke with dorel / maxi-cosi division today regarding this complaint and was assured that they would pass the concern on to the engineers.
