The contact owns a 2008 honda cr-v.the child safety seat is a2008 dorel eddie bauer child restraint seat, model number 22-865 -chl. When setting my onboard 35 air (ella print22-395 aoq) in the base, it does not click into the base without pushing down on the sides ot the seat to make it click into place.i have tried it in 3 different deluxe bases.after sitting it in the base, you have to push on the top of the seat near the belt guides to get it to push down in and secure to the base.if you do not do so, the seat is not clicked in, and can go flying in an accident.

I am a cps tech (t661343) and today i installed an alpha omega elite model 22187sar manufacture date 12/2/2010. There is a problem with the ?rear-facing? instructional labels. It appears that the labels have been applied on the wrong sides so that the arrows indicating where to pass through the belt when rear-facing is actually pointing to a solid piece of plastic. The closest opening is for forward-facing installation. The owner attempted to install the seat using the pass-thru for forward-facing because the arrows ?seemed to be pointing to that hole?. He said the reason he didn't?t install using that forward-facing pass-thru is because the belt did not reach. Had it reached, he would have thought it was installed correctly.this may be an isolated instance with this seat but please review and consider a recall to correct this error. I have given this information to dorel as well. I have photos of the labels as well as the bar code with manufacuring information.

We have been having issues tightening and releasing the straps on our daughters car seat which is a safety first alpha omega elite (model #22456-ttn, manufacture date 4/4/2008).these issues have been apparent everytime we get her in and out of the seat since she moved to the forward facing position approximately 6 months ago.today (3/4/2011) i went to the safe kids west michigan car seat check to see if there was something i was doing wrong with the seat, etc.after 5 technicians looking at the seat for over an hour, they determined that there was a defect with the seat.i purchased one of the seats they sell at a discounted price to ensure the safety of my daughter.the technicians believe that there is something wrong with the release/tighten mechanism that is not a part of the current recall of this seat.the release/tighten strap is also fraying and they believed that the mechanism is too narrow for the strap, but there is also something else wrong that they could not identify.with their recommendation, i have contacted dorel usa with a complaint as well.

I discovered the locking mechanism had stopped working on my infant car seat.it was an eddie bauer seat made by doral juvenile group.manufacture date was 10/17/08 and product number was 22-627 frk.there was never an accident that occurred as a result of this.the company was very helpful, and sent me a new car seat.i sent mine back to them so they could examine it.i appreciate their help, but i later saw a recall for the exact same problem with many other models, but mine was not listed.i thought someone should know that my model also has a problem with the locking mechanism.

The contact owns a dorel juvenile group signature child seat, model 22-630-bil.the contact stated that the latch on the child safety seat was very difficult to push.he fears that it may be difficult to remove the child from the seat in the event of an emergency.the purchase date was unknown.the child seat is positioned in a 2009 land rover range rover.

The contact owns a 2004 dorel juvenile group 22300 booster seat.the contact stated that another vehicle crashed into the passenger side of her vehicle.the crash caused severe head injuries to the four year old child seated in the booster seat.the booster seat was placed on the rear passenger side of the vehicle at the time of the crash.the contact felt that the booster seat offered no head protection for the child.the manufactured date and failure type were unknown.

On each side of the child seat there was a plastic piece that holds the straps to adjust to the childs size and weight.the straps kept tearing and the consumer had to keep re-sewingthem.

We have two identical car seats that have been in use since approximately august/sept of 2009. I bought them new and they've never been in any kind of accident. On both seats the harness that holds the buckles and goes over the child's shoulders has frayed significantly to all the way through. The harness was rubbing against a plastic rib that is part of the frame on the underside of the car seat. It looks like even if you replace the strap it will just wear through again.....if you run your finger along the rib that the straps go across it is rounded and smooth most of the way, but kind of sharp-ish under the strap. Because the strap goes across the rib and turns rather abruptly, the load on the strap is pretty much all going to that rib all the time and seems to have just slowly sawed through. Whenever we put the kid in the seat that strap gets pulled at least a little bit left or right as we adjust the tightness of the harness. It definitely gets pulled to one side a good ways whenever1) we lift out a kid and she grabs on to a toy that then won't fit through the loop2)she puts her own arms into the loops or pulls her arms out of the loops3)every time we adjust the length of the harness-it never pulls out evenly.looks like over time the rib just sawed through the harness (all the way through on one car seat and part of the way through on the other).

Harness straps are exceedingly difficult to adjust, making it impossible to properly restrain the child. The straps do not slide easily through the mechanism making adjustments nearly impossible.the carseat was uninstalled and the straps inspected--there is nothing external to the seat that is impeding their movement. Manufacturer was notified but chose not to respond to complaint.

Designer 22, se, lx infant car seat made by durel juvenilethis carseat has a defective adjustment bracket allowing the shoulder belt to completely come off of the child.in our case, our nine month old was able to turn around and stand up in his car seat while we were traveling down a busy highway at 75 miles per hour.luckily, he was not hurt.thinking that it was something i may have assembled wrong, we kept using the car seat until it happened again.we then contacted the manufacturer.they stated that they would send a repair kit (so obviously they are aware of the problem) but the carseat has not been recalled (although other models have been for similar problems). I am very upset knowing that my child could have been seriously injured or killed, all the while the manufacturer is well aware of this problem but has not notified consumers who have purchased this seat.we have used the seat for nine months before the defect was defected which means our child was not safely restrained during that time.we feel something should be done to force the manufacturer to notify the public of this problem before an infant is hurt or killed.
