I noticed the spring on the part of the carseat that folds forward had broken the plastic.i can show pictures.it is made by cosco and manufactored in 8-12-99 with the number 02014hpt.i don't know what it is the lable has peeled off halfway leaving the last four letters ....riva.it has only had one user, my daughter and was bought brand new.

The child safety seat unlatched on its own.

Cosco model # 02114cdm, dom 11/12/96;consumer was involved in a rollover collisionin which the child was ejected from the css.however the harness remained fastened,and the seat remained in position. Please give any further details.

Consumer states that the arms to the over head shield have broken from the base. The consumer also states the seat stays in the vehicle. The breakage was noticed when taking the child out the seat. The manufacturer was not notified. Please provide more information. Model# 02-190wal manufacturer date 03-17-2000 mr

Consumer claims received a recall notice from cosco regarding touriva child restraint. However, walmart where car seat was purchased indicated that they were not aware of the recall. Also unwilling to give consumer a replacement seat.

The manual for the cosco touriva is worded in such a way that parents may be lead to believe it can be used as a belt positioning booster.

The child seat buckle failed and as a result the consumer's grandson was able to get out of the car seat while the vehicle was in motion.*sc

Consumer noticed a problem with the cosco touriva child seat, model# 02-019wal, dom3/27/1999 shield arm separated while driving and leaving the child unrestrained.

Cosco tourvia convertible carseat- (black/tan) model 22111-fsm date 02/15/08. One carseat the black plastic cover fell off, exposing the bare metal mechanism and exopsing the screw that held the cover in place.the second cover was sitting on top og the lenthening/shorting device, not allowing any harness adjustment to be made, without repositioning the protective cover. Another carseat the protective cover fell off as the carseat was pulled out of the box.

The contact owns a cosco tareba child safety seat.the arm attachment to the base of the car seat snapped and broke whenlifting the overhead shield.two components including the metal springswere exposed.the manufacturer stated that the contact was not in a crash and that theywerenot responsible for the failure.

My 16-month old daughter has been able to unhook the harness tie that is supposed to keep her firmly in her car seat since she was about a year old.the harness tie in question is a one-piece molded plastic device that should keep the two shoulder straps snugly against the childs chest.it is used on the majority of car seats sold today and obviously has a design defect if a young child can unhook it.in the event of an accident my child would be thrown forward and receive head a neck injuries since the only thing keeping her in the car seat is the straps around her thighs.

Cosco model 02-514sfm, dom 03-21-2000;arm that positionsseat in reclining position when rear facing will not lock in upright position for forward facing. Cosco has been contacted.consumer states cosco very promptly replaced child safety seat.

Paint has peeled off the front bumper, seat belt ratcheting system stopped working, engine mount needed replacing, tansmition needed adjusting three times, and the last problem was the vechile would lock when ever and where ever it felt the need to.i locked my self out of the car with my children inside many times. The dealship replaced a main panal inside the door.despite, all the times i have taken it in, at least twice for every problem, the dealership refuses to give me a car, mind you i have two children to cart around all day. I am extrmemly peeved about this van.

Consumer pulled the vehicle over, and put the child back into the car seat. Consumer stated that, child wass able to push the release button on the car seat.

Cosco model # 0201pld, dom 10/29/1996;buckle will not lock. Buckle can be inserted into slot, but will not lock in.no prior warning before buckle stopped working. A pebble had jammed into the lock and cosco assisted consumer in taking apart and cleaning.

When unbuckling the harness straps,buckle sticks and has to be yanked out of buckle receiver.

I bought a cosco touriva car seat in january 2004. My grandson is 10 months old. The cloth cover to the plastic seat has two plastic clips to hols the cloth in place. My grandson was choking while i was driving and i found the plastic clip had broken in half and was in his mouth. I would like to contact cosco-this could have been fatal.

The harness does not stay tight. It comes loose, and pulls completely out. In the event of a crash, it could sling the infant completely out. Needs recalled!

Cosco touriva recline does not stay locked in the stand position with child in seat.

Dt:cosco model tourivamodel # 22-111 fsm, dom08-25-2005. The contact statedthat child seathas a defect on the leg that holds the seat up. There is a button that supports the leg on the seat, and it is not locking the leg of the seat to the forward position. This has not been reported to the manufacturer at this time. The seat belongs to the health department,and now they can not use the seat. The contact specifically states that what she is referring to as a leg inthe owner's manual is called a recliningstand.

Consumer was driving when she noticed the arm of the child seat came off, showing the springs and clamps, it was attached too exposed for the child to explore.

Dt*:the contact stated the material padding hooks were broken off of the side of the seat and placed in the mouth by the toddler.although there was a risk of choking, the child did not sustain any injuries.after the incident, the seat was inspected by a child safety seat technician who suggested discarding the seat.the manufacturer was not alerted.

Consumer's child pulled plastic from the fabric that was connectedto the shell of the child's convertible car seat. The 8 month old child put the plastic in his mouth and choked. Consumer was able to take the plastic out of the child's mouth.

Dt:the consumer states the over-head shield broke on the left side where it attaches to the shell.she states she was putting her son in the car seat one day and it snapped.she is the original owner for this seat.this seat has only been in use since may.they tried to fix it, but it snapped again.this happened in the middle of june.the consumer tried to take the seat back to the store where it was purchased.the model number for this seat is 22-130-wal.

There is a crack on shield near the part that is connected to the frame, and there is a spring loose in the shield.

The latch that secured the child in the seat caught in the fabric.when the shield was pulled down the child's arm became caught between it and the plastic molding on the base of the seat. Ph*nlm

Shield broken intwo places from the base area manufacturer notified. ( please give model # and manufacturer's date).

The coverfrayed at the seam on the left upper corner.the cover will not remain clipped to the edge of the seat when in use. The arm of the shield that was attached to the left upper cornerbecame detached. The consumer immediately took the seat out of service and contacted the manufacturer.the manufacturer sent replacement parts to repair the seat.the consumer fixed the seat and now the seat is back in service.
