Dt*:the contact stated the elastic bands that hold the padding to the shell of the safety seat has been pulled loose by the child on multiple occasions.the child has choked and been smacked by the bands.the manufacturer sent new padding, but there was no improvement to the padding sent.this is a cosco 22-130-wal manufactured february 17, 2005.

The manufacturer was contacted and they offered to send new padding. The manufacturer stated the elastic should have stretched out. The straps left red marks on the child's neck. While going to put my grandson into the car seat for an outing, the car seat broke. I put him in the seat, pulled down the overhead shield, and it came detached from the side mounts. It looks like it was cut or something, there is a slice where it came off.

Cosco touriva car seat model # 0014emf(? only number listed on seat ) date of manufacture 12-05-96when raising the shield to place my daughter inside, the right shield arm ( where the shield is attached to the sides of the seat ) broke completely off, and the spring that was around the arm flew off. I purchased a cosco tourvia convertible car seat from wal-mart about 6 months ago. When placing my child in the seat a week ago, the overhead shield came loose from the seat. In trying to repair this, i found a part on the shield was cracked and could not be repaired.
In the process of assisting a parent to install her child restraint in her vehicle, tray shield on car seat came completely detached. The tray on child restraint comes unfasten when tray shield is unbuckled from bottom buckle. It seems that it is meant to disconnect if parent wanted to do so but this tray shield on seat separated from seat without any attempt from me or parent. Medal spring attached to side of tray easily broke apart at the time of tray shield disconnected. Parent stated that she had just purchased seat, and was not going to use this seat for her child. Apparently, this could cause injury to a child if tray shield easily separates and medal spring becomes a projectile. Costco touriva-model number#22130wal manufacture date 9/11/2003 to3b.

The locking mechanism on the harness is difficult to push into the receiver between the child's legs.on december 23 2003 the harness would not engage while we were trying to xmas shop.it took about an hour with several different people trying to do it.it finally engaged but we had to take the baby home because we couldn't risk getting stuck like that again.
