Dt*:the contact owns a cosco high-rise/ambassador backless belt positioning booster seat, model #22-297-flp built on january 25, 2006.while the booster seat was being inspected, the inspector determined there was a clip missing from the seat.the clip that prevents the shoulder strap from pushing on the occupant's neck was missing.the manufacturer of the booster seat informed the contact the clip is no longer being manufactured; therefore they were unable to provide a replacement clip.

My 4 year old son reached the weight limit to move him from his harness in his car seat to use the booster slot for the seat belt.the slot for the seat belt is strapped on to the material of the car seat and moves up and down, thus causing the seat belt itself to continually escape from the slot.in turn, this causes the seat belt to become at an unsecured level and run across the bottom of my son's face.this is an obvious concern in terms of the purpose of the seat belt protecting my son in the case of an accident.there has been no injury at this time because i have simply not allowed him to use this booster seat.ironically, because i loved the car seat so much (before i had used it as a booster), i had purchased the new model for my one year old daughter who used it with the harness.i now have my son in her seat with the seat belt because the slots on hers are directly attached into the mold of the seat and do not move.when contacting the company, i was told that there are three reasons the seat belt could come out 1) the seat is reclined or out of position (there is no recline on the seat)2) the seat belt is at an odd height (it is a new trailblazer)or 3) movement of the child (my child is not allowed to jump up and down in his car seat, but he's 4!!he's allowed to color and point out the window and not made to sit still with his hands in his lap).they offer no part replacement or fix for this car seat...model #22-249 wal12/11/2003cosco 5 point to booster.

The child seat harness crossed the child in the face, and became unlatched.consumer contactedmanufacturer, who has since then replaced the vehicle after telling her that vehicle was not compatible with the seat.
