A three and a half year old child weighing approximately 35 pounds was in a front-end crash while riding in a cosco explorer shield booster seat. Model # 02-424-oxf, manufacture date 10/10/01. The child suffered a spinal cord injury as a result of the collision.
When usingbooster seat in shoulder belt position, it cuts into neck of a4 year old child, 42 lbs and 41 1/2 inches. Same booster seat was tried in three different vehicles, andproblem still remained the same. Asking nhtsa to look into this matter.
