We went out to get my 3 1/2 yr old son a new mattress.when my husband went to get our son from his car seat, he noticed the lumbar on the car seat was detached from the actual car seat.it seems as the spring that allows the lumbar to raise and lower cracked the plastic on the left side of the seat apart and is cracking on the right side.needless to say, we had to go buy an emergency car seat at that moment.this is highly serious, since this car seat is not even in a vehicle that we use often.i would estimate that it had been used around 150 times.no injuries occurred as a result of this defect; however, i don't want to even think what could have happened if he were in an automobile accident while in that car seat.i am also contacting cosco regarding this incident.i have pictures of the defective car seat to show damage.model number stated on seat is 02870ebg.
