(nar) *phthe consumers son was injured while sitting in the car seat, the consumers vehicle was stoppedwhen it was rear ended at a high rate of speed by another motorist. The carrier portion of the car seat broke away from the base due to the weakness of the plastic connectors which fractured. The carrier and the baby went between the front bucket seats and crashed into the radio. The baby suffered severe brain damaged and blindness.
Cosco model # 02-729, dom 03-12-1997; carrying handle broke off from both sides of child safety seat, while carrying the child from church, no injury was reported. And manufacturer would be contacted.
Child's car seat safety locks unlocked while holding the handle and the baby almost fell to the ground. Yh
Cosco arriva model # 729,dom02-07-1999;handle unexpectedly released, causing the seat to flip forward. Can be a potential danger for the child if not properly strapped in . Consumer want this on record.
The handles on this seat are very hard to get up and down and are very time consuming and appear to be defective on every one that i have tried. It takes 10-15 minutes to get these handles up and down.
Consumer stated that child's safety seat is having a problem retracting .after buckling the child in, a child moved just a little bit, then, the belt loosened and it will not retract to keep the child tight in the seat.
The spring, located on the left side of the seat and supports the shield,popped out.as a result the seat cannot be buckled properly.please provide any additional information.
