Convertible child safety seat with detachable base via a rod and plastic molding did not hold in location.

Complaint regarding cosco child safety seat molding holding bar attached to the base. Model# 22-155 hmr.

Dt: caller said the belt positioning device does not work on child safety seat. It goes up around the baby's neck. Manufacturer said they could nothelp. Newer models have already been changed to a better belt positioning device. Manufacturer will not send her a replacement part.

The contact owns two cosco scenera convertible child seats, model numbers 22120 (na).the seats were manufactured on october 5, 2007.the contact's one year old child was able to get out of the child safety seat.the manufacturer has not been notified.the purchase date was unknown.

The headrest/harness adjusting levers of the alpha omega elite deluxe 3-in-1 car seat model #22-155 manufactured by the dorel juvenile group, inc. Dated 6/23/04 have punctured and snagged the harness of the car seat on the left side creating a six inch snag in the threads of the harness.when the harness is loosened, it does not rest on the plastic metal pieces in the back.the seat was assembled correctly and the metal bar was locked according to the picture on page 14 of the owners manual.the problem area is clearly seen on page 14 of the owners manual.there are 2 metal posts that wrap around the metal bar to adjust the head rest with the red levers.the harness straps drift on top of these posts when loosened to remove the child.when the harness is tightened again, they wear on the harness threads and have punctured one side.the company has agreed to replace the harness but there is nothing to prevent this from happening again.

The contact owns a cosco alpha elite convertible child seat, model 22-155-mshe 03/04/2008. The seat was forward-facing and the back of the harness belt was torn. The contact had not spoken with the manufacturer at the time of the complaint.

Alpha omega by cosco, purchased november 2000 (used solely by my child) was found to have severe breaks in the "arm joints" of the tray shield where the springs are located.i took pictures and contacted the dorel juvenile group, who did replace the carseat.reporting this after finding several other complaints about the tray shield listed here.
