I have a combi baby car seat and its really hard to get the car seat of the base well i cant even get it of my husband only can with two hands. Lets say there was an car excedent and u would need to get the car seat with the baby out fast and u wouldn't.model name:center exmodel number:[xxx]manufactured in:10-29-2008[xxx]. Updated 07/10/2012 information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

I am a cpst with 12 years of experience who checks more than 900 seats per year. A father of a 2 day old infant presented today to my fitting station with a combi centre ex infant seat & base that he and his wife had used previously for an older child.since the older child's usea recall had been issued.on one prior occasion several years ago i assisted another family with this recall fix.father informed me that both he and his father-in law had labored for a good bit of time to address the recall on the infant carrier. In checking the carrier connection to the base it seemed somewhat difficult to release from the base.upon exploring further it was very difficult to verify that the recall repair had been correctly done. My complaint is primarily with nhtsa for approving this recall "fix".i think this repair is way too complex for mere mortals! the instructional materials available on the combi website (including the grainy poorly done video) are very difficult to follow. I was very uncomfortable coming behind the dad & grandfather with the responsibility of checking this "repaired" seat that was going to transport a 2 day old.i have ordered a recall fix kit to re-do the repair from square-one.nhtsa...please be more cautious with what you approve as a fix.even though i had previously repaired a similar seat several years ago this "already fixed" seat was a concern. The dificult to follow on-line instructions and video offered no me no reassurance.

My son's carseat was recalled. I contacted the company over 3 months ago and i still have not received the replacement.i e-mailed them again, no reply. I do not know what to do now.combi centre exmodel # 808660manufactured 08-09-2006serial # cc41c0111sc00351
