On november 28, 2007 my 2 year old son, dylan fisher depetro lost his life, along with 9 month old amelia demeuse, to a minivan fire that also seriously injured two others in the town of luxemburg, wi.our son's sitter ran some errands for another little girl's 1st birthday.while she was in a hardware store, purchasing decorations, the minivan, holding five children (along with my son) caught fire.the cause remains under investigation.i hold no anger towards sue laluzerne, the sitter.she loved my son and my son loved her.however, i know that my son's death was not in vain.he was called home to jesus for a reason and i feel it's my calling to ensure that something like this never happens again.the minivan was destroyed by fire in less than 5 minutes.my son was pronounced dead at the scene from smoke inhalation and soot.he probably only took two breaths before becoming unconscious.although the cause has not been determined, i firmly believe that there is no excuse for a vehicle becoming consumed in flames in such a short time.my son was in a car seat that was built into the minivan; a seat that contained highly flammable, toxic materials.we are working with gil ross, a lawyer out of chicago, to help us during this time.there is no amount of money that could ever ease the pain of losing my child.what i really want to happen out of all of this is for the auto industry to stop using flammable materials in their seats, especially if car seats are built in.i want people to be trained in the use of car seats in cpr classes across the nation and a mechanism for quick release of a car seat in the event of an accident or fire.i ask for your help in making the world aware of this safety issue and helping us to change the safety standards.my son deserves this.thank you.
Internal mechanical failure of integrated child safety seat, right hand side. The cable assembly in the seat module has failed. This cableassembly locks the retractable shoulder belts. The cable hooks directly to the latch plate and when the belt buckle is connected to the latch plate the plate's forward movement pulls the cable causing the shoulder belt's retractor to lock. This cable connection has separated from the latch plate (cable end is also frayed with three strands left on it's end), rendering the shoulder belts, retractor assembly unlockable. This is a very unsafe condition for any childs life if vehicle is in an accident and shoulder belts do not restrain the child in the seat like is supossed to.left hand icss also has a problem with the seat cushion pivot frame which is twisted at left attached point.dealer says there is no warranty coverage. That the seat modules need to be replaced and costs on an estimate of$1,300+.i, refuse to pay any amount when my gut feeling is that chrysler has put out these icss which are having the same problem i'm having now for a few years now. Chrysler on 01/02/03 told me that if i pay the first $800+ that they would pay the remaining difference. Now, to me this is like saying yes, we know we have problems with these icss so we are willing to help. Well, after reading so many like complaints about these icss, i feel that chrysler should realize that every time a child is placed in their "chrysler" icss that the child's life is in their hands. They need to own-up to flaws of engineering and fix these seats so that we the customer can trust in their product..any information you could provide, i would appreciate it.respectfully, severino l. I can not put my child in a booster seat at the ages of 9 & 10 - if i hit a bump in my dodge minivan they would get a concussion from hitting their heads on the ceiling of the van. 2) if we had a rollover they would certainly suffer getting their head caved in?????? why do you keep changing the regulations. My kids are laughing because they figure next year i'll have to be in a booster seat. I'm 5' 5 and the seat belt still goes across my stomach, sounds like belt problems- not booster seat necessities!(related vehicle information: model year=2000, make=minivan, model=chrysler).
After puttingchild intoseat and locking harness straps in place, consumer tried to take harness straps off,but harness straps would not come unlocked. Second time that it happened, consumer had to cutstraps to take the child out of seat. Contacted dealer, and the dealerwas not willing to do anything to solve problem.

Spare tire is not properly secured which causes you to loose your spare tire which has happened to me causing damage to other parts cause cable is not strong enough to secure your tire proper and now i am like others i have spoken to with the same trucks has happened to them also.now i have to look for another spare and rear bumper due to damage done and dent to rear corner panel.this needs to be addressed to dodge so it can be repaired right so it is not a safety hazard to all other people on the road.
