The metal clip on bottom of seat that is held by the plastic mold of car seat does not hold the clip in place. There is no part that can replace it, because it ispart of the car seat.

The chest buckle on the built-in child safety seat in my 2000 chevrolet venture can be pulled open without pushing the release button.there have not been any injuries but the same thing happened to my mother's van, also a general motors vehicle.her dealership replaced the entire belt system of the seat.general motors has told me my seat is no longer available and they cannot do anything to help me.i think there may be a defect and am afraid children can be harmed or even killed if invilved in an accident.

The child seat latch would not release when the consumer attempted the put the child in the car seat. *nlm

I own a 1995 gmc vandura vin # [xxx] with 62,000 miles.four of the six seatbelts are inoperable and not due to misuse or abuse.my issue is that the state i live in legally requires seat belts and i also transport my two children in this vehicle and as it is now i can not use my van. I would think that seat belts should last at least the average life of a vehicle or 100k miles.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The center rear seat belt, which is where my toddler son's carseat is, broke into pieces during a routine move of the carseat.the seat belt latch was not subject to any undue force or pressure at the time of it's breaking.when i contacted the dealership i was told that the seatbelts are only warrantied for 3 years or 50,000 miles.my car is a 1999 but has 85,000 miles.i am very distressed to know that the not only are the seatbelts not covered under warrantly but that noone seems to find anything wrong with it.

New cars come equipped with the latch system but the ball got dropped when the manufacturer of baby seats and booster seats came out because the tether system works for the top of the car seat to hold it securely, but the tether on the bottom of the seat deos not hold it anymore securely than the seat belt itself.what the manufacturer of the baby seats should have done was to place two clips on the bottom of the car seats that hooks directly into the clips installed in the new vehicles.i have a new vehicle and ordered a new boosterseat, but i found the top of the car seat is secure with the tether belt but the bottom is still loose even with the tether strap.the car dealers did their share in trying to make the baby safe, but the car seats themselves are not designed correctly to fit into these clips in the new cars.

I have a 1992 gmc safari van. It has no anchor system for a child seat and gmc customer service indicates no requirement for such a system. It is my opion that just like other vehicles the van should have an anchor system for the child seat and the manufacturer should be required to supply such a system.

Took car seat apart to clean & found the adjustment strap that attaches the shoulder/lap harness to the adjust the length of the shoulder/lap strap was severely frayed.seat has not been in any position other than in the vehicle, strap worn from normal use over a period of only 9 months.manufacturer is in process of determining what corrective action to take & during last email advised it may be required to replace the entire seat as that strap is not removable.child restraint not listed in drop down menu. Safety1st complete air 65 convertible car seat.model cc044auag.

Although i can't imagine *forgetting* i have a baby in my back seat ...apparently it's a common occurrence, since i hear about another innocent life being "lost" almost daily! i have a suggestion for how this tragedy could be prevented: a weight-sensitive device - installed under baby carseats - that would sound an alarm (like when you leave your headlights on!). If you open the car doors and the seat isn't empty, it would scream at you to check the child seats! if someone could tell me who/where to submit this suggestion, i'll write to them immediately -and often! bobbie palsa, mother of five/grandmother of ten (none of them "replaceable")richmond va

Consumer has issues about the child safety seats. *njthe consumer found data which stated it was best to have children sitting rear- face to the highest weight that is allowed for the manufacturer of the seat, versus forward face.the consumers grandson neck was broken while sitting in a forward-front carseat. The consumer stated the general public is not being made aware the risk involved when children are placed in the front-forward position of a car seat.

I was placing the kiddy cruiserfix pro booster seat in the vehicle and felt a pop underneath the cover.i removed the cover to find a huge piece of styrofoam had broken off.this piece made up the top 1/2 of the right shoulder wing of the car seat.i called customer service 9/4 to discuss an issue i experienced with the foam breaking on my kiddy cruiserfix pro.i left a message.after not receiving a call back, i left another message on 9/6.someone called me back later on 9/6.i explained to the customer service representative that the foam had broken on my seat as i was installing the seat in the car.there was no force applied to the seat, it had never been crashed, etc.the customer service person i spoke to said to "send pictures and i'll talk to my manager and see what i can do".i sent pictures on 9/6 in the afternoon.i received no response until 9/16.i was told then that the seat is not safe to use and the break was not covered under the 1 year warranty despite the fact that the car seat is only 4 months old.i was told "we do not know what exactly happened to the seat ? but it seems, that there were high forces to the side impact protection material. This definitely reduces the safety of the car seat, especially at side impacts.do to safety concerns we do not ship such spare parts for exchange, as it effects the safety of your child."i then informed kiddy again that there were no high forces applied to the seat, and that it had been treated very gently.kiddy again told me all they could do would be to offer me a 15% discount on a new seat.i emailed someone else from kiddy who later called me and basically said the same thing as was stated in the emails, that the seat could not have broken without high levels of force.they refused to listen when i assured them there were no high forces applied, and implied that i was lying about what had happened to the seat.

My daughter is six years old and of average weight for her age. At what point does she have to stop sitting on a booster seat? if you do not know then can you please direct me to where i can find out about this information? thanks!

I have a cosco alpha omega 22-180 - with shield and do not have themanual. I contacted the manufacturer and was told that without the manufacture date and model number (which are on stickers on the car seat that my son tore off) they could not help me. My complaint is that without the manual i cannot be sure that i safely and accurately converted my car seat from a car seat with shield to the booster seat formation. They would rather risk the life of a child than to assist a parent, i know the make and model (my seat is the same as the one displayed on their site), and for a company dealing in child safety seats that is a grievous choice to make.

For the second time in less than 6 months another front tire blew out while driving.first blowout was in august 2002 with about 21,000 miles on vehicle. Second tireblowoutoccurred with 27,000 miles on an eighteenmonth old car.there was no accident, but it was very scary, and it felt unsafe. Wheels vibrated for a few months, small amount, but dealer said nothingwas wrong.finally, dealerinformedconsumer that something was wrong with rack and pinion steering, and it needed replacement.

The sentry guardimal is marketed toward forward-facing children over 1 year of age; however, there are many safety concerns. The lower anchors do not meet fmvss 213 standards, the manual provides unclear and conflicting information, and there are issues when the seat is installed.the lower anchors are not permanently attached to the seat as required by fmvss 213. This could result in being lost or damaged.the manual is unclear and conflicts the seat and itself beginning with page 8, where it mentions a body support that is not included with the seat or in the seat diagram on page 11. The booster and lower anchor limits provided in the manual do not match the limits on the labels of the seat. The installation section begins on page 26; however, it is unclear these are only summaries with more detailed instructions to follow and there is a confusing note on page 66 of the manual. Page 79 of the manual states there are 4 harness heights available; however, there are only 3 sets of harness slots on the seat itself. Routing instructions on the crotch buckle, which was doubled back through a second slot in the seat, were not included in the manual.the guardimal also has several issues when installed. The splitter plate can get caught on the bottom of the seat when loosening the harness and on the storage pocket of the seat when tightening the harness. When the seat is installed using the front entry method, the splitter plate can also get caught on the seat belt and will loosen no further. The rear entry method installation was impossible to achieve with either the seat belt or the lower anchors.the manufacturer was contacted and is in the process of rewriting the manual but, with all the issues this seat has, it still cannot be used correctly and it is only a matter of time before a child riding in it is seriously injured or even killed in a crash.

Dt:there is an integrated child seat made into the vehicle.if the seat is not clicked in properly it will allow the entire seat to tilt forward. Consumer'schild was injured while they were driving at 15 km. Hospital reports were available.the consumer felt that there should be some type of restraint to keep the seat from moving forwardor if there could be some type of warning system on the dash for example a check child seat light.she contacted the manufacturer, and they told her that theywere industry standards.the consumer was located in ontario, canda. The child seat is a dodge.

The handle of the infant car seat came loose. This car seat was replaced once by the company for the same reason! and its happening again to the replacement that's less than a month old. The other seat lasted almost 5 months. Dorel needs to address this issue before they send out any more seats. Personally i think a recall is in order. There's no way i am the only person that got 2 cars seats with the exact same defect! the handle could fall off and some baby could get seriously hurt!

I use the learning curve first years convertible car seat for my son.on january 30, 2010 as i was coming returning to my car after an activity with my son i went to strap him into the car seat only to find that the left side shoulder strap had come completely disconnected from the inner harness.at that point i had to disconnect the car seat, remove the padding, locate the harness from underneath the padding and reconnect the strap in order to use the car seat.this is obviously a very dangerous defect and it appears that after repeatedly loosening and tightening the straps the strap must have slowly worked its way off the inner harness clip- being extremely dangerous if there was an accident because the strap could become disconnected defeating the entire purpose of have a car seat in the first place.the car seat is made by learning curve, model c830-sbl, item # y11013, date of manufacture 3.31.2009.

I have a 2003 dodge grand caravan se with the middle child bench seats.my 4 year old son put his juice cup down between him and the infant seat buckled next to him.the juice cup hit the seat belt release for the infant seat and released it.this is very disturbing that this can happen. If i hadn't heard the click of the release , i would not have known my 4 month old daughter was unprotected.*nlm

A store in the metro atlanta area is selling seats that are not from the us to unsuspecting parents. They have a no refunds policy and are saying the seats pass ece r44/03not fmvs 213, which is misleading to parents. They have admitted the seats are imported but not from where.

Www.thebabyfactoryoutlet.com is based in atlanta ga and selling european car seats to parents in the usa without telling them that they do not meet fmvss 213. As a parent i would be furious to be conned out of my money, thinking i am protecting my child, only to find out the seat was not approved for use here. They know they are doing this illegally and are only interested in making money. Attempting to get local authorities involved, but having no luck as of yet. This needs to be stopped. When asked, their response was that the seats "are approved for import by us customs".

I received my nuna pipa car seat in the mail and was unboxing it. The canopy fabric collapses into the head rest area because there isn't any support to hold the canopy up. As i was trying to figure out why that was occurring my 19 month old was leaning on the handle bar to stick his doll in the car seat he was able to bend the handlebar. If i stuck an actual baby in it that infant would a) suffocate or b) i 100% guarantee if it was in a car wreck that handle bar would snap and impale the infant.model name: pipamodel number: cf03501frtserial number: 0499136manufactured: 2018/12/25 *dt

I bought this car used from car mart less thana year ago.first my steering was very shaky. It got rapidly worse.i went through 3 sets of new tires in one year plus 2 alignments. I recently had trouble again and my car is in the hyundai dealership in fayetteville. First the bearings were rusted in.both ball joints were nearly out. The control arm is going out. The steering linkage and the cradle above the driveline is rusted and falling apart literally. The exhaust system the cadillac converter is rusted apart for the third time. The spare tire holder was rusted closed and had to be broke off to get my spare out. Also the rear seat belt just stopped working . Talk about a bad day.

Combi tyro infant seat tends to flip over towards the rear of the car when even a slight amount of upward pressure is applied to the edge of the base furthest from the seat bight.this occurs regardless of whether the seat is restrained using lap belt, lap/shoulder belt, or latch system.given the extremely round, narrow contour of the seat's base, the child passenger safety technicians here have been unable to prevent the seat from flipping over in this way despite attempting installation in several different positions and in different vehicles.we feel that all infant seats of this model should be immediately recalled until the base is modified so that it will no longer flip.

The sentry guardimals seats have conflicting limits. The manual states the backless booster portion has a 100 lb weight limit. The labels on the seat give a 120 lb weight limit. When emailed, the president of sentry directed me to follow the labels on the seat. When asked about the limits on their facebook page, someone else was given a 100 lb weight limit for the booster.

Incident reported in amazon.com customer review section of website.url regarding the complaint: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/asin/b00022ofsy/qid%3d1125520513/sr%3d11-1/ref%3dsr%5f11%5f1/002-9858359-3780034amazon.com customer review of the product in question: product should be recalled, august 22, 2005; reviewer: [xxx] (tulsa, ok) - i bought this booster seat and absolutely loved it for almost a month. My son was very comfortable and it was easy for him to get in and out of the car. However, after we hadit for almost a month, the folding lock became defective. The seat folds in half for easy carrying/storage but is supposed to be locked in the upright position while children are riding in it. Well, with any weight applied to the seat (such as a child sitting in it) the lock would pop open and the seat would fold in half...while driving down the road. This is so dangerous! i have notified the manufacturer and am returning this seat. I wouldn't be surprised if they recalled the seats but who knows, maybe mine was just a manufacturing mistake. Regardless, just to be sure you are getting a safe car seat i would look elsewhere [end].

The consumer has been experiencing problems with gerry model number 675-676, manufactured on12/4/95 child safety seat. The cloth and cardboard of the base separated from the seat.the manufacturer has yet to be contacted.

The forward facing "lockoffs" on our new recaro como do not work! they are intended to lock a seatbelt that doesnt automatically lock for seatbelt use, and intended to replace traditional locking clips. After being alerted by another como owner, i went outside and attempted to install the como forward facing with the lock offs, and found that they were completely defective. The rear facing lock offs work perfectly. According to the sticker on the bottom, the date of manufacture appears to be 07/06/2007make: recaromodel: comocolor:sand(the following numbers are included as well)331.00.mm346400000086upc code: 8 82854 31034 0 date of purchase was 9/17/07if someone installed the como with the forward facing lock offs without realizing they were faulty, a child restraint could easily fail.

The recaro como convertible child restraint that i purchased on 10/01/2007 came with built in lock offs (according to the owner's manual) that are supposed to effectively lock a non-locking elr lap-shoulder vehicle belt. The lock offs do not hold the vehicle seat belt secure and an acceptable installation (with 1" or less of movement at the belt path) cannot be obtained.

I am the owner of an eddie bauer edgewood lightweight travel system.the car seat portion of the travel system has failed on numerous occasions.the straps that secure the child to the seat have come loose on many occasions, leaving my child unprotected and unsecured.this problem is absolutely unacceptable and the product must be pulled from the market immediately!

I am a certified cps instructor and have noticed several child restraint manufacturers have been attaching seat related documents, (registration cards, etc.) with plastic attachments through the webbing of the harness. Could this practice damage the harness and over time deteriorate its strength and ability to protect a restrained child?

I have a 1992 gmc safari van. It has no anchor system for a child seat and gmc customer service indicates no requirement for such a system. It is my opion that just like other vehicles the van should have an anchor system for the child seat and the manufacturer should be required to supply such a system.

I am a car seat technician - i purchased 42 cosco high back booster with 5-point harnesses - i must make a complaint about the tether system on the model - it is very hard to use and to explain to parents - i have used other tethers that are easy to use - the other problem with this - you can not get a different replacement part - the company can only give you the original - please help get this changed.*nlm

An infant car seat called the stroll-n-go is marketed as meeting fmv ss 213 and as being current in its crash testing. The marketing scheme is to compare it to the sit-n-stroll in order to mislead the consumer.it has no latch system and is not crash tested currently.it is being aggressivelyby william shore of strolex corp on the internet after he lost his sit nstroll distribution privilege.. His web address is www.strolex.com and his phone number is xxx-xxx-xxxx.it is also being marketed by the developer of the product at xxx-xxx-xxxx.this product is illegal and unsafe.
