I purchased a chicco cortina travel system w/keyfit car seat for my infant son.he was born in february 2008 and when the weather warmed up i started noticing a rash on the back of his head, arms and calves.i started doing research and found many other people experiencing the same problem.

The contact owns a chicco cortina rearfacing infant seat, model number: 08079319080070. The seat was manufactured in may of 2015. The contact stated that the middle latch on the seat strap was fractured. The latch on the strap would not lock into the seat and was a safety hazard. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist.

Newborn insert is unsecure and slides forward underneath baby's butt. This created baby's position to restrict his airflow. (baby's butt slid out causing his chin to connect to his chest and nearly suffocate!) had mom not been in back seat monitoring him, this would have been fatal as i could not hear him gasping for air!!

I filed a complaint with cpsc and the attorney general in order to obtain chemical test results that were conducted on my child's infant car seat.i have since been referred to you.chicco is the company who conducted a chemical test analysis on the car seat i purchased last year.after using the car seat for 3 months - the combination of hot weather heating the car and one day the car seat got wet in the rain it started emitting a very strong chemical odor.the company (chicco usa) suggested it could be the flame retardant they use and that i should send the fabric of the seat back to them for testing.they conducted the test but would only give me the results of the allergy tests of the dyes on the fabric.i wanted to be sure that the type and level of flame retardant that was used was within legal limits but was told that they do not under any circumstances give out that kind of information in light of the recent media exposure on such chemicals.the chemical smell was so bad, something i have never experienced before and i feel it should be within my right to be sure my child was not exposed to a dangerous level of chemical.could you please obtain these results for me? updated 03/24/09

The chicco nextfit convertible car seat shoulder pad got hot when the car was outside and almost burned my child.the underside of the shoulder pad is made of rubber and it gets hot when the car has been outside.my child complained when i put her in the car seat and i noticed that the underside of the shoulder pads was extremely hot.i put a towel underneath the shoulder pads so she wouldn't get burnt by them but if i didn't do that she would have gotten burned by them.
