When the child safety seat was placed in the rear facing position, it failed to lock in the base properly.it continued to collapse. The child seat was checked by a technician who discovered the mechanism for locking the carrier in place was defective.

Century model# 4710 cft,dom03-17-1997;infant seat has a tilting option, this function no longer works, it will not stay locked in position anymore.consumer contacted century and was told that carseat is designed not to lock in certain positions.

The car seat tipped over while driving.the seat was taken to an inspection station which could not properly install the seat without it moving (century infant seat model #4433olp).*nlm

When the consumertried to take the child seat off from the cart with her right hand in thegrocery store, and whileholding it with her left hand, the child seat began to lean toward the ground, and her son's head almost hit the ground because the handle broke in half.

Century 2000stemodel 4265pix, dom 01-15-1999; t-shieldharness lock that goes over the child's head bent going into the lock. Century manufacturer is sending a replacement piece to consumer.consumer states that the piece suffered metal fatigue.
