The red release button failed to release the belt connected in the crotch therefore not allowing the overhead release to come up.this resulted in the child being stuck in the car seat.
I drive a 94 ext cab ford ranger. I just got a ticket for not proper restraints for my 3 and 4 yr olds that were in their jump seats (buckled in) .. I've tried putting a carseat back there and all it did was flop around.. It is safer for my kids without the carseat then with it. My wifes car has carseats in there but we work different hours and cannot switch vehicles when i need to go somwhere whitch is rare because i don't like them ridingwithout proper restraints. I dont feel i should have to pay a ticket for looking out for my childrens best interest..
Century model # 4362prs, dom 01-19-1999;while child is strapped in t car seatlocking mechanism will disangage without prior warning. It hashappened while driving please provide more information.

The crotch strap buckle failed to hold the harness strap tongue securely. *jg
A coin got into the harness strap buckle and obstructed it from latching properly which resulted in the buckle coming unbuckled. The shield released upwards and the straps choked the child.
