Child was in the above car seat in the right rear when the vehicle was struck by an oncoming pick-up, and then collided with a highway retaining wall.that caused the child who was buckled into the car seat to be ejected from the right rear.*lathe driver was apparently driving too fast for heavy traffic and abruptly left the roadway into the median when the accident occurred.the base of the seat remained in the car. The child suffered massive head injuries and subsequently died. The mother was not wearing a seat belt and died the next day.
Century model # 41540hbh, child seat base broke while being installed without excessive force being used.
