Consumer received recall notification (00e-058), consumer contacted manufacturer to get a replacement, consumer received replacment and she realized she did not like it because the handle was white and the car seat was gray, therefore consumer purchased a new car seat, consumer loaned the old car seat to a neighbor, all of a sudden the handle released to the back position and the baby rolled out of the car seat onto the grass with no injuries, consumer then contacted manufacturer and was told that car seat should have been thrown away because of its age and that the failure was not due to the handle. (model# 11595sef)

Century model # 4595ctf, dom 02/07/94; when lifting the seat from the base of the car seat, the handle unlocked and the seat flipped forward, and the infant fell out of the car seat onto the floor.
