Britax parkway booster, manufactured 12/2007.the adjustable headrest on the booster is supposed to lock into position in order to keep the seatbelt at the proper height to protect the child occupant.on august 19, upon entering our vehicle, we noticed that the headrest was at the lowest position, not at the position it had been locked into for our son.we pulled the adjust handle, and brought the headrest up to the proper height, released the handle to lock it in, and it slid back to the lowest position again.several attempts had the exact same thing happen.the headrest would simply slide back to the lowest position without locking.i took the booster out to look over the adjust mechanism, but there was nothing caught, and the spring mechanism seemed to be working, but it still would not catch and lock into position.the locking mechanism has been "tweaky" and has taken a lot of jiggly and wiggling to create a lock at all, but never has it been completely impossible to do so.we do not use this seat daily, for this reason, but sometimes it's been necessary to use it.now we cannot, it is not safe.thankfully, we had a secondary vehicle and seat to use, because it was not safe to transport our son in the britax parkway booster seat.i have contacted britax today, and was told that the seat is unrepairable, but that because it is over a year old, they refuse to repair or replace an obvious defect, one that they are aware of at that.

I have a britax parkway booster seat for my child purchased in 2008.it has a headrest that you can adjust up as your child grows and to ensure that the seat belt level is at the child's shoulder.recently the locking mechanism to keep the headrest up has failed and the headrest keeps on falling down to my child's shoulders.this has hurt my child's shoulders and poses a very unsafe situation in the car.i have contacted the manufacturer's customer service to see if repairs can be made.the company claims that such booster seats have life expectancy of 6+ years, but the customer service rep informed me that there is nothing for them to do and told me to just try to figure out what's wrong with the unit and try to fix it myself.i wonder if this is an isolated incident or other people have experienced the same problem with this booster seat.

Britax parkway booster seat.

I purchased two britax parkway booster seats a few years ago.the styrofoam foam in the top part of the seat continually breaks for no reason.i am very careful to keep the cover on and we do not move them around.the first time i noticed it was because i took the cover off to clean it.the foam still stays in place so without looking you would not know it is broken.each time britax has replaced the foam at no cost, but there is a problem with the seat.before i noticed that the foam was broken for the first time, i purchased a third britax parkway. The foam in the third seat has never broken.all three seats are in the same van and the three kids that use them switch where they sit.the foam in the first two seats has broken multiple times, but the third seat has never broken.i wonder what is wrong with the first two seats that they brake.i also wonder how many parents haven't noticed that it is broken and are driving around with broken car seats.the model number of the broken seats is e904157.they were manufactured on 03/18/2005and 03/23/2005.i have all of the other information if you need it.

The contact owns a 2006 britax e9041 (parkway) child safety seat.while removing the seat cover, the contact noticed that the foam on the head rest was coming off.the child safety seat was purchased new and manufactured in september of 2006.
