Make britaxmodel number marathon clicktight convertabletype (only appears with some makes)date of manufacture september 16, 2016component: britax usa marathon clicktight convertible car seat, verve* component -- part or system of concern the clicktight button broke and we were unable to uninstall the car seat

A screw fell out of the car seat and was rolling around the inside of the seat.i located where the screw had been, and found that the same screw on the opposite side was loose as well, along with two others on the top of the car seat.i contacted britax, explained the issue.they said i could go ahead and tighten/replace loose or missing screws for the time being.i was concerned that the integrity of the carseat was compromised. Britax rep asked that i send pictures of where the screws that were loose/fallen out had been.i did, and they replied "don't see no screws missing from the seat".took car seat to local police dept, who was only able to verify that the carseat was installed correctly, but unable to ensure that the carseat is still in using order.how do i find out if my child's car seat is still safe?it is still under manufacturer warrantee, never been in an accident.

I own a britax marathon click-tight car seat and have had issues with not being able to extend the harness straps fully making my daughter very uncomfortable.previously, i reported this issue to britax and was told that sometimes the straps get twisted.at that time, i uninstalled the seat and checked, and then reinstalled it but was still having the issueon june 5, 2016, i took it to a certified car seat inspector to rule-out operator error and he was able to replicate the issue i was having with my seat and but could not fix the issue.the inspector also stated that he's seen this issue before.in addition, the click-tight seat had a recall (my seat affected) with the button and they sent a kit.the inspector found that the button in my seat was not aligned properly (the kit wont fix this issue), rendering it a defective seat.the details of the seat are:marathon ct: e9lt71q, bath: job0009725, serial: e9lt71q000253, manufactured 10/2014.

Cpsc: i have a britax marathon car seat that was purchased new 15 months ago (although themanufacturing date says dec 2015). I noticed that the chest clip did not appear to be latchingnormally and that once the chest clip is 'latched' together, i could lightly pull on one end and itwould completely separate. This was concerning. I called britax to order a new chest clip. *dt

Purchased a britax marathon cr e1a385r new from amazon and it was delivered today.as i was reading the manual and ensuring all the proper adjustments were made four our 6 week old, i tugged on the shoulder straps.the left strap pulled clear through the back of the car seat.it was not attached at all to the metal clasp on the back of the carseat.the other strap was attached.i find this extremely concerning.i'm not 100% sure that if i had put my daughter in the seat and tightened the slack, that i would have noticed that one side was not properly attached.there is a good chance i would have noticed the extra slack on that side, but if i tested the slack from the other side i might not have noticed.i have pictures i can send in, but i do not see a place to upload them.

Model: britax marathon g4.1 (e9lx11a).manufacture date: (9/2015). We had not had issues with this seat since we purchased it on 11/1/15.on 8/20/16, we put our child in her seat and while we were trying to secure the harness, the left harness (while looking at seat from front of seat) pulled completely out, and after further examination, we noted the harness had disconnected from the yoke plate.we discontinued use of this seat immediately.

Britax marathon clicktight, manufactured 04/2015, red harness adjuster button would not disengage, keeping the harness loose.remedy kit from britax was utilized for this problem in september 2015, no issues with harness adjuster button occurred before or after remedy kit used, until june 2, 2016.car seat was properly installed, using the seat belt in the front facing position. 3 year old was buckled, harness pulled securely, and we pulled out into the road. After driving for a few minutes, the 3 yr old was able to lean forward, completely loosening the harness. We pulled over, pulled it tight, checked the red adjuster button space for foreign objects, nothing was present. Adjuster button couldn't be disengaged from the outside. The seat needed to be uninstalled, and push the red button from underneath. Lubricant from the september 2015 remedy kit was still present in the space, no foreign objects or excess debris was around the adjuster, and the red adjuster button was able to fully contact the metal adjuster button. When the seat was reinstalled, the harness was tested, and tightened twice before failing again. The red adjuster button would not disengage again when fully installed. The car seat was removed from the vehicle, and will no longer be used. Britax is being contacted.

The following is what was sent to btitax in an email on 8/27/15- comments: this car seat is part of the recall, but the following is what occurred on 8/26/15. This is a car seat that was purchased for my son's first child. I was baby sitting on this date and the car seat was moved to my vehicle (used in it several other times). When my son went to remove the car seat the "click" button would not turn to allow the seat bottom to rise and allow the seat belt to be removed. It appears that the seat bottom did not go down completely, but it did lock in place. We had to go immediately to purchase a replacement (britax marathon) before we left the state. The next day i was able to remove the car seat from my vehicle, but cannot get the seat bottom to release. I am requesting reimbursement for the attached receipt and will send you the defective seat if you supply a prepaid mailing label. My son is sending me the purchase info on the original seat which was purchased within the past 12 months. Thanks- ray

I am writing to report an ongoing issue with britax child safety convertible click tight car seats. I have worked for britax for a short while and have found that consumers are reporting loose or missing screws with their convertible click tight car seats. I have found this is a common occurrence considering i myself have replaced 5 or more of these cars seats a week for loose or missing screws. Britax has known of the issue for several years and has taken no action. I do not feel right standing by and not taking some kind of action myself.
