The shoulder harness separated from the yolk on the rear of the child safety seat. The owner un-installed the safety seat and re-attached the shoulder harness to the yolk. Owner later re-installed the seat into the vehicle attaching the seat belt of the vehicle and attaching the seat belts of the vehicle to the tether. Consumer pulled on the adjustingstrap, but it was tight. Pulled on the harness strap again and it came loose in consumer hand. It had somehow bunched together and came off of the yoke behind the seat.

Purchased a faulty car seat from retailer and they are unwilling to return the unused car seat.

I currently have the britax husky youth safety seat for my 3 1/2 year old.this seat is offered for children 22-80 lbs.my daughter is 34lbs, well within the guidelines for this seat, however, the buckle part of the harness is way too far from her body.it does not secure her properly around the hips.while she is in the seat she slides down and the hip restraints slide up her torso.i took the seat to a professional installation clinic and they also noted the problem.i have owned two britax roundabouts and i love them.unfortunately my 3 1/2 year old daughter has outgrown the roundabout and is too small for the husky which is advertised for her size.i am concerned about the poor safety this seat will offer.many parents out there do not realize where exactly the restraint should be positioned and around the waist is not where it should be.when i contacted britax they had no suggestions for me.i am writing this as a concerned consumer that a company as prominent in the car safety industry as britax can sell a restraint that obviously cannot secure the size advertised.i believe the only thing needed would be a third slot to move the buckle closer to the childs body.

No crash or injury. However, when buckling daughter into britax husky, (we have used for years) one of the ends of the straps came completely off.apparently, the looped end slipped off the bracket that holds the two ends of the straps on the back of the unit.a caribeener type safety latch should be used to prevent accidental slip off of the strap.

This is the second time we have had a problem with this component on this seat.britax issued a recall on this component once already.the strap the goes through the a-lok adjuster and has the splitter plate on the other end which the harness attaches to has become horrible frayed and has also developed a deep gouge in the section that was routed through the a-lok adjuster itself.i am very worried about continuing to use this car seat for my grandson who is nearing the weight limit of the seat since this strap holds the harness to the seat itself.the strap was replaced by britax because the original strap webbing was too thin.this thicker strap webbing has failed as well and has frayed and even has this large gouge cut into it, apparently by the a-lok adjuster which keeps it locked in place.this is very frightening and discouraging, especially since it has been replaced once already.

This is the second failure of this component on this seat.it has been recalled once already.the strap that holds the splitter plate and goes through the a-lok adjuster to tighten the harness has frayed significantly in several places.this is the thicker strap that britax provided as part of the first recall on this seat.i am worried that the strap may fail in a crash, especially now that my child is nearing the weight limits of the seat which would put more strain on the straps in a crash.i just noticed the fraying when i took the seat out to clean it over the weekend.
