I own a britax chaperone infant cat seat and 2 bases.all were purchased new.one base was made in 2009 and one in 2012.both have faulty lock offs.when i stalling the bases with a seat belt, the belt will thread back thru the lock offs when the base is wiggled at the belt path like is recommended to test the tightness of the install.the belt will loosen enough that the whole base will flop around.i have duplicated this issue with 2 bases and in 3 different vehicles.i have contacted britax but they acted unconcerned, though i did get them to agree to look at videos.i have since learned of another person with the same problem.this seat is not safe to use with a seatbelt if the belt does not lock, and that is not stated in the manual.
