Britax boulevard 70 convertible car seat hasa completely broken head restraint which is not visible until you take the car seat cover off. A call to britax resulted in an offer of a replacement part, but the fault is in the construction of the head restraint system, and the product issue should be addressed, not the part replaced. The car was not in an accident and there is no damage to the seat. The seat has never been moved from the car after initial installation, so there is no explanation for the broken part and as such we question the integrity of the entire car seat. We requested to return the car seat but britax denied the request and said they do not return products.

The contact owns a britax e9l57c0 boulevard child seat; manufactured on 8/24/2006. The contact stated that while sleeping, the child's head got wedged between the side impact wing of the safety seat, and the seat in the vehicle.this failure could have resulted in serious injury. She has possession of the seat. The manufacturer was notified.

The contact owns a britax safety seat, model: boulevard 70 convertible car seat, type: rearfacing infant seat. The contact stated that the chest straps did not secure the child in the safety seat. The contact had depressed the button to release the child when positioned in the seat and the straps had been able to be unsecured and not securely strapped in. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opted not to cover the replacement straps to prevent the failure.

While installing the car seat into another car we noticed that the right side of the head restraint detached from the carseat. The head restraint is made of styrofoam and completely broke off. The car seat cover conceals the snapped off piece so we are not sure exactly how long this has been broken. We are not rough with the car seat and our son does not climb or stand on it. I will be calling britax immediately to request a new head restraint or car seat.

I own a britax boulevard convertible car seat.my child who is 2 can reach the lever to loosen the shoulder straps.he pulls on it while moving back and forth in the seat.he does this while i am driving and if there is a crash he could get thrown from the seat causing injury or even death.i have read other people complain about this online.this is very dangerous and the child should not be able to reach the lever.i would call it a defect in the product.this is a very expensive car seat and i would expect it to be safe.i read a complaint from last year and nothing has been done to correct this problem from the company.if i have problems with this seat then more parents do, too.it scares me to put him in it. I have made sure he is properly positioned in the seat with the straps tight but he can still reach the lever.

The contact owns a 2011 britax boulevard 70 e9lb51a rearfacing infant seat. The contact stated that the seat was not structurally sound. The straps were adjusted to the manufacturer's guidelines, but the failure progressed. The failure was causing the child's head to be wedged within the headrest. The contact had to constantly readjust the car seat. The manufacturer was sent pictures showing the failure with the child's head not being properly secured in the headrest, which could have severly affected the child's head and neck. The manufacturer provided no repair solution and no replacement car seat. The contact was to purchase a new car seat due to the failure. The purchase date was unknown.

Car seatbelt loosening lever car be pulled upward by a 2 yr old whilst she leans forward it loosens and releases her shoulder straps, making the 5 point harness fall off her shoulders and belt strap loose.

I have 3 britax boulevard car seats (manufactured in 2007) for 20 month old twins and 3 year old.the chest straps loosen very easily. I have been meaning to report this for quite some time. This car seat must be recalled! it is dangerous!

I am a cps technician and i installed a new from the box, britax boulevard clicktight for a client and one of the hip straps was unattached from the hook.it should not be.this is a safety issue because it can't be seen unless you lift the cover.

We purchased a britax boulevard click & safe car seat earlier this year (2010) for a second vehicle.after a few months of use this (very expensive) car seat began to show problems with the harness getting stuck while pulling to tighten.this results in a false click and save situation while in reality it is still lose.we have to try the tightening procedure a few times to ensure the strap is secure around our sons body, but are not sure if the system is too tight or remains lose.this is something we cannot imagine as part of the original design.a look at the back of the carseat quickly revealed that the buckle in the strap system that holds both shoulder straps and connects them to the pull strap deviates higher to one side than the other.this causes the buckle to reach the carseat body causing the entire harness system to get stuck not allowing it to reach the secure position.we also have another brand and model carseat that has never given us this kind of trouble.

I bought a britax boulevard a few weeks ago for my 12 month old daughter. I was driving on 3/24/09 around 7am and all of a sudden she started screaming. I thought she just wasn't happy that morning, but she was still screaming furiously about 3-5 minutes later when we pulled up to her preschool. I went to get her out of the child restraint, i unbuckled the crotch belt and then chest clip, her left arm came out and when i went to grab her right arm she screamed bloody murder! i looked down and she had her hand stuck in the seat belt slot by the rear-facing lock-off , not only stuck down in there but her fingers looked like they were about to break because she had gotten them wedged between the plastic part of the seat and above the metal latch bar. I was horrified to say the least because i could not move them and they were red and swollen. I ran into the preschool and yelled for help, the director and her teacher came out and after completely unlatching the seat and trying a number of things, her teacher put liquid soap on her and the seat and we were able to get her hand out. Her skin was scraped off the top of her fingers and she cried for about 5 minutes afterward. They iced her hand and it doesn't look too bad now except for the scrapes. Her fingers could have easily been broken and this seat is for babies 5lbs and up. Has this never happened before? what am i to do to prevent her from sticking her hands down in the slots?

Six months ago the buckle on my daughter's car seat began unlatching a few times a week.i called the company and did everything they suggested and it continued to unlatch.they replaced the buckle part of the harness system.the new buckle worked for about five months and for the past month the new one is doing the same thing.it comes undone a couple of times a week.i contacted the company again and they are not interested in helping me solve this problem instead suggesting my daughter is unbuckling her buckle.she isn't unbuckling her seat.she doesn't have the strength.it is unsafe to buckle my child into her seat and have it come undone while we are driving.how am to trust the restraint will do its job in a crash?

I was installing my britax boulevard click tight convertible car seat, and as i was adjusting my son in after installation, i pulled to tighten him, and the left harness strap completely came apart - the leg strap has come off from the metal anchor where it attaches to the click tight plate. I had to take my son out of the seat, uninstall the seat, and rethread the harness strap to the metal anchor. This was not only time consuming, but a huge safety concern. I am afraid to reinstall the seat as i do not want this to happen when i am not at my house.

Britax boulevard 70 convertible car seat (from 2010) has the right side of the head restraint completely broken. That part is styrofoam and is not visible until you take the car seat cover off. Next day both sides of the head restraint were broken. The carseat was not in an accident and there is no damage to the seat. The car seat is not under warranty, but i will call britax to notify the issue and ask for a carseat exchange or the piece replacement.

Britax car seat causes deep scratches and lacerations to legs of infact/toddler (my daughter).there have been multiple dates when this has happened since purchase of seat (the below date was the latest date of injury).we (the parents) have performed due diligence to ensure proper seat installment and child placement in the child seat. Because of this incident, we took this particular car seat back to babies r us for refund of purchase.

Britax boulevard manufactured jan 2006. The lower harness buckles no longer "click" when fastened and this has led to numerous events where i am driving and my toddler tells me that his seat belt is undone. Even though i habitually tug to ensure they are properly fastened.

Hello,2nd row seating.the lower anchors of the latch system are not large enough to properly clip the buckles of certain britax child seats.when viewing the child seat's latch buckles from the sideview, it resembles a sperm whale's head.the latch part of the buckle is the mouth of the whale, the upper (larger) part of the buckle is the head, and the narrow part would be the lower jaw.if both buckles of the child seat are manufactured with the narrow part facing down, then the clips will latch properly.but if the clips are manufactured with the large part facing down, then the clips will only fit either by clipping almost vertically (parallel to the seatback), or by twisting the buckle upside down.so, it is the "hoop" part of the anchor that is not large enough.note:we have several britax child seats where each seat's buckles are mounted differently on the seat itself.one seat has both buckles with the narrow sides down, another with the narrow sides up, and one seat with the narrow side of the buckle up and down.need advise.thank you!(related vehicle information: model year=2010, make=ford, model=flex).

Webbing installed incorrectly through adjustor on latch on both sides, webbing installed twisted making adjustment of latch difficult(related vehicle information: model year=2004, make=volkswagen, model=passat).

The head support (side impact tested) on this seat broke. Britax stated"it's just a styrofoam"and that i can either fix it with duct tape or they will send me as new styrofoam part.the consumer stated her child's head became stuck on the side of the head support.

Adjuster straps fraying a dangerous amount with normal everyday use.

Removing britax boulevard convertible car seat from car and forward facing lock off for seat belt snapped in two.was not applying excessive force.returned car seat to babies r us.

Car seat buckles click, but then come unbuckled while child is in car seat. This has become common behaviour in this britax boulevard seat.

My not quite 21 month daughter is able to reach the harness release button, and since she has to reach forward to grab it, loosens the harness strap as far as it will go.she doesn't know she could climb out of it while in this position but it would not doubt send her flying if we were ever to be in an accident.

We bought this car seat brand new at the end of february or beginning of march this year and never had a problem with it until last thursday (dec 6).last thursday i was strapping my toddler into the harness and pulled on the straps (as usual) to make sure they were tight.the straps came completely loose - the locking mechanism for the safety harness did not lock at all.i retightened the harness 4 or 5 times before it would stay tightened.i drove home and brought the car seat inside to examine it and did not find anything obviously wrong with the seat - no food stuck in the locking mechanism or anything.i reinstalled the seat and decided to keep an eye on it.on saturday (dec. 8) the same thing happened to my husband when he put our son in the car seat.the harness would not lock and stay tight.he tried again and this time the harness worked.today (mon. Dec. 10) i took the car seat down to the local children's hospital (uw children's hospital) and got a car seat technician to take a look at the seat.he said the lock/release bar barely has to be lifted up at all for the harness to be released.he thinks the bar is not gripping tightly enough against the harness webbing, and so when you pull on the harness the bar releases and the harness comes loose.the car seat technician recommended that i contact britax for warranty work, i called them this afternoon and they are sending me a shipping label to send them the seat.the technician also recommended that i make a complaint on this web site.note: the model number on the car seat is 89l8711 which is not a choice in the next step.

While removing the cover from one of our boulevard seats, i discovered the strap on one side was significantly torn at approximate that is completely out of view during usage. Further concerning is this seat is in our second vehicle and not used regularly. I made a report with briitax including photos and they have not responded by their own self-imposed deadline. Concerned because i know this seat is unsafe to use in its current condition.
