My 2 year old (28 months) is able to reach down and press the release button to loosen the harness on her britax allegiance convertible car seat. I discovered this when her arms were completely out of the straps as we were going 70mph on the highway!!!! i contacted britax and they just said that kids are smart so they learn this quickly by watching their parents. They said i can sew the hole to access the release button so neither she nor i can access it. That's not an acceptable solution in my opinion. No other car seat ever (even cheap ones that we use when traveling) have this problem. The release button on this car seat pulls up, not pushes down. If it pushed down like any other seat i've ever seen then this wouldn't be an issue. My 2 year old didn't even entirely understand what she was doing. She just was excited to show me that she got her arms out - she wasn't even trying to leave the seat. This is a huge safety concern and i am incredibly surprised that britax hasn't taken this safety issue more seriously.*dt
