The contact owns a britax advocate child safety seat, model number: e9l73p8, and manufactured april 29, 2010. The contact stated that the child was unable to be secured into the seat do to a torn and damaged harness. The contact indicated that the harness was torn by a broken part inside the latching mechanism of the seat causing the seat belt to become stuck on occasions and the child could not be safely secured in the seat. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a replacement strap was installed but the failure recurred.

I purchased two of the britax advocate clicktight convertible car seats for my 6 month old twins. Upon receiving them the harness was not connected properly to the anchor at the hips on both seats. (the end loop was around the anchor but not through the book, so it was not engaged and would come loose if pulled on). I reinstalled them after watching the britax video from their website as they mentioned it was an installation error. I was lead to believe that once i fixed it, then it would be fine. A month later one side came off again and shortly after it happened again.last night when i went to change the recline on one of them, i noticed that the strap was off of the hook again. This was extremely concerning because it meant that if i had been in an accident, the 5 point harness would not have worked and one, possibly both sides of the straps around their legs would have come off. When go called britax they offered to replace both car seats. I do not feel safe with a replacement because they have not made any changes to address this problem so a new seat could be just as dangerous. Their website acknowledges that the clicktight models have thisproblem and say that it is "highly unlikely" to come off. Mine has come off multiple times. I am returning these britax advocate clicktight seats and am very disappointed that my babies lives were endangered.

Cpsc: i1460323a. Britax advocate car seat. Consumer stated the catch does not work, the child is able to pull the straps loose even when the catch seems to be engaged. *lnserial # e9bb91k001474

Britax advocate 70-g3, top of hugs system chest clip ripped off leaving sharp edges. Using seat for a 2 year old and only for a couple months before the clip broke off, so it had lno biting or chewing on it. Britax is in the process of replacing. Manufacture date 6/2012 batch j000036159.

Britax advocate g4 convertible car seat, which was purchased in 2015.my child is now 2 years old, and has been reaching in between the legs, to press the release button on the harness (located right in the bottom of seating area) and loosen the strap while i am driving!many times!i checked and checked, child is properly strap up before i drive, child is not in too tight or too loose, we followed the directions exactly.it's really the location of the harness release button that is the problem (why is it located in a place within a young child's reach?). Contacted britax the first time- was told by the rep this is a parenting issue- received a lecture about my toddler "misbehaving" and i just have to teach my child not to touch the button.so i implement the "touch that button and we will go straight home" method for a few months.didn't work. Contacted britax the second time- was told it's not a manufacture problem it's my parenting issues.there's no kit or anything available where i can block off the button so my toddler cannot touch it.if an accident occur, the car seat won't be able to function the way it's designed.and i am simply not able to keep my eyes on the road and turn my head every other minute to see if my toddler has touched the release button, britax is not giving me any realistic solutions and the two reps i've spoken to does not appear to be concern about this at all.
