Britax car seat. Advocate 70-g3. Manufacturer 01/2013.complaining of top latch component! we have owned this car seat for 3 years and never had an accidentwith it untilnow. We were sitting at a red light and got rear ended by a big pick up truck smashing our trunk in and lifting our back end off the ground. Our one year old who was in this car seat was rear facing and latched in correctly wearing a light fleece (no puffy jacket.. We are very careful to follow every car seat rule). During the accident her top latch came undone! the adult sitting next to her witnessed the top half of her body fly forward hitting the seat she was facing! she vomited shortly after and was said to have a concussion! we are reporting here and complaining to britax! we are never buying that brand again and we hope they can fix this for any other children with this car seat that fails to do its job!we boughta graco rear facing car seat to replace this horrible one.we still have the car seatat our house(we are not using it)and sending a video to britax of how easily the clip comes undone after clicked in! we are not happy and upset that our daughter got injured!
Cpsc: britax advocate 70 g3: consumer stated the material fell apart in her hand during normal use, and the foam panels in the lower part of the seat do not stay attached to the car seat shell. *ss
Britax recalled its car seat chest pads on our advocate 70-g3 carseat made in 2012. It sent out replacement pads that were not supposed to rip. Those replacement pads have ripped and the car seat is unsafe while struggle to find replacement pads.
The contact owns a britax advocate 70 g3 rearfacing infant seat, model number 39bg81a. The seat was manufactured in october of 2013. The safety seat was being utilized in a 2015 subaru outback. The contact stated that the harness straps fractured. Upon further inspection, the contact noticed that the latch straps fractured and the foam padding to protect the child from a side impact also fractured on both sides. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The purchase date was not available.

We had part failures on our britax advocate 70-g3 convertible car seat. Both of the hugs chest pads ripped off/broke. I contacted britax on 6/27/16 and they sent me a link to purchase 2 new hugs chest pads.
Britax advocate 70 g3 base has a piece that connects the base of the car seat. It has cracked an broken off completely. It is unsafe and could result in injury or death if a crash occurred. Contacted britax customer service and emailed pictures of the broken part and waiting to hear back.

The hugs safety harness pad ripped and is sharp and will not stay in place.my one year old son was able to bite on it and he could have choked on the pieces that came off the pad had i not noticed.along with the fact that the pad is now a hazard itself.britax did issue a recall for this very problem however only for car seats manufactured between 6/1/2012 - 8/31/2012.my car seat was manufactured in february 2013,but clearly has the same defect.i believe they should increase the recalled seats to include seats manufactured at least through february 2013, like mine.other children may be still be in danger.
