I purchased two of the baby trend hybrid 3-in-1 car seats - edge (item #: fb58718) from babies 'r uson 11/5/2015.about a month ago, one of the car seat's harness buckle stopped functioning.and this week, the other car seat's harness buckle stopped functioning.the result is the bucket does not safely keep my child in place as it opens on its own; does not lock.i contacted babies 'r us, who indicated there is nothing they can do about replacing the car seat or the buckle as it is beyond their 90 day return policy.i contacted baby trend, who indicated all they can do is provide us with a new harness for the two carseats. I requested the same, but indicated:1)i am still concerned even with a replacement buckle since i have witnessed two buckles stop functioning as they are supposed to well within the timeframe a child can use this car seat, and 2)i am surprised there is no recall on this car seat, particularly as i have found numerous complaints online about the same issue for this exact convertible car seat.as such, i am reporting this safety concern to you, with the hopes that a product safety recall can be issued.

Just over a year ago we purchased the hybrid 3 in 1 fb58718. Two days ago i buckled my son in and started driving. He informed my the chest clip wasn't staying closed. A part of the front chest clip had just fallen off. If the chest clip breaks that easy with no force after only one year of use how is it supposed to protect my child in an accident? saftey first does not put our children's safety first!! i am disappointed in this product and upset that this has not been recalled.

The chest clip (harness tie) cracked on the male side and it doesn't stay closed now.babytrend is supposed to be mailing a new one.

The straps on my baby trend 3-in-1 car seat loosen every time my child leans forward. I have tried to tighten the straps but when pulled on they come lose again. Experienced cpst purchased baby trend hybrid lx 3 in 1 child restraint model # fb48166 (mfg 07-27-2015 at babies -r-us in august of 2016. Seat was on the sale isle with manufacturer tags still intact. Cpst was unable to successfully remove harness straps from ""double splitter plate" (behind the seat) connected to the harness adjustor strap.being unable to remove the shoulder straps from the splitter plate renders this seat unsafe for any child whose shoulders are above the first set of shoulder slots. I suspect that this situation reflects either a very poor design or more likely an assembly error.newer models seem to have a similar "double splitter plate" but the harness straps are threaded onto the splitter plate in a much more intuitive & less complex manner.after noting several reviews and videos on line that mentioned this problem i contacted baby trend directly to see if perhaps theywere offering a harness replacement upgrade. They were unable to offer a complete harness replacement (including the harness adjustor strap / splitter plate. I returned the seat to babies r-us and requested that it be sent back to the manufacturer marked as defective product. I feel certain after looking atreviews on line and seeing at least 1 video intended to show parents "how to fix the problem" ...that there are a significant number of seats that have been sold. I checked with baby trendon 10-3-16 to see if

The chest clip on my child's car seat broke after about a year of normal use.as i read the complaints on the website they are all the same and about the same chest clip. What i don't understand is why the company does not want to replace or refund or even put a recall on this part. This is outragous and unacceptable ... Thank god that as of yet nothing serious or major has occurred but i strongly suggest that something be done about this immediately. Baby trend model # fb58718 hybrid 3 in 1
